Hi:
Is there some magic to get the remote working?
I took out the battery cover sheet of the remote, and even changed batteries. Bittle will not respond to the EQ to enter calibration mode. I was able to enter the calibration mode using the USB dongle though.
I might have accidentally pressed a bit on the infrared receiver while installing the board in the case, but I opened everything up, and the infrared sensor still seems correctly soldered on.
Is there any way to debug this? Alternatively, is there a way to control Bittle without either the Remote or serial USB connection to laptop?
Thanks,
Which version of IRremote are you using? It should be an older version, 2.6.1, rather than the latest. You can downgrade with Tools > Manage Libraries... That got my remote working.
Many thanks @Paul Masson and @Rongzhong Li. After downgrading to 2.6.1, the test program works. Here is a sample output on the serial monitor for those who might wish to try this.
We have tested several thousands of IR remotes and haven't got a case of a broken unit. So I assume it's not a hardware problem but a software problem.
Make sure you are using version 2.6.1 of the IRremote library, and there's a testInfraredRemote code in your OpenCat folder. For testing purposes, point the remote directly at the infrared receiver on the NyBoard and press the buttons. The serial monitor should print some encoding of the keys.
I too have remote trouble, nothing happens
I got the same problem here amoung others. I've tried to connect it via Bluetooth point 4.2.6. from the Manual
The bluetooth pairing doesnt work and the webapi link leads to the forum for some reason. I hope somebody figured it out
*edit
I also tested the Infrared each button gives this output
