I have a problem with my Bittle. Everything through assembly and calibration went perfectly however after installing OpenCat.ino the only response it seems to give is a weird twitch where it lifts one leg and then pulses. It won't walk or leave this position. When lifting, it moves legs as if to balance.
I have tried communicating through bluetooth, the Serial Monitor, and with the IR remote. All are the same. Using the IR remote test sketch the buttons seem to come through fine. Any ideas?
Ok, did the calibration one more (fourth...) time, and this time it worked:-) Now to play!
I appear to have the same problem. I have double checked, and the unused encoders are set to 0; I'm uncertain what you mean by entering "yyy" to save the constants, but I've successfully calibrated the gyro and joints, and saved the settings - so if I move Bittle around, it will try to balance itself, and when I pres "rest", it returns to perfect angled joints. But aside from "rest" and "zero", it behaves as Austin described - so just the weird twitch and a lifted foot. The only thing I've identified I've might be doing wrong is that you write "set the baud rate to 115200 in both the code and the serial monitor" in chapter 4 - how do I set the baud rate in the code?
After uploading writeInstinct.ino, have you set up the serial monitor correctly and entered “yyy” to save the constants? Have you set the unused encoders in IRremote.h to 0?
