Hello!
I purchased a Petoi Nybble when it was very first released for my daughter in December of 2018 during the first promotional production run (I looked and saw I was the #55 on the sale list from my receipt). I have had this original production run Nybble assembled in my daughter's room for the past 5 years (!). I had never attempted to upload the firmware and get it going - until yesterday.....I see that quite a bit of development has occurred and many new versions of the NyBoard are now available. This is great to see! I hope to gather some good advice about the best way for me to proceed with such a "classic" board.
My early version Nybble came with an FTDI board to upload firmware. Yesterday I hooked it up and ended up getting the "Nybble beep of death" that another post indicates (https://www.petoi.camp/forum/clinic/root-cause-analyse-on-strange-ftdi232-nyboard-behaviour) I may need to get a new FTDI board. I also had it hooked up reversed like that post initially did! I also had all the servos hooked up and probably 10 other errors I made in my hasty attempt to upload. I suspect I may need a new FTDI board and I certainly can benefit from some guidance. Before I plow forward and continue to learn the hard way, toasting hardware unnecessarily along the way, I was wondering a few things:
1. Is there a good thread for uploading firmware using a FTDI card and the classic V0_1 board that benefits from all the may lessons learned from the Petoi community other than the "beep of death" thread I refer to?
2. Alternatively, is it better for me to continue on with using an FTDI card for the upload or is there a better dedicated Petoi accessory card that would work better?
- Could I buy one if so?
- Is it better to use the Arduino IDE with the FTDI or do the Nybble firmware software downloads work with the FTDI card?
NOTE: I am not an Arduino programmer/user (yet! :) ) so I would be looking for the easiest path of entry on this, like not having to download a dig into the Arduino IDE.I appreciate any help I can get, thank you all in advance!

Likely Toasted FTDI:
Wish you update the new hardware(especially NyBoard_V1_2 and battery) to recover it.

Hi,
I'm glad you are trying to bring the original Nybble to life. The hardware and software have been upgraded a lot, and new features are incompatible with the early board. Would you like to have a remote meeting so I can check the robot's status? You can write to support@petoi.com to get the booking link.
