If I have understood correctly, when I connect the NyBoard with the FTDI uploader board's blue LED should switch on indicating the board has power. However, in my case it doesn't happen. I suppose that's the reason I keep getting an error while trying to upload any sketch test. I have tried connecting some batteries (not the ones needed to power servos, normal AA batteries) and at least the yellow LED has switched on, but blue LED has stayed off.
Am I doing anything wrong or is there anything I'm missing?
I don't see problems from the pictures.
One last try. Please buy some 14500 3.7V Li-ion batteries and power the board to see if the blue LED lights up. If it lights up, we will get some new clues for the debugging. If it doesn't, we will arrange a replacement of the NyBoard for you. You will need the right batteries anyway.

I see at least one problem. You are using regular AA batteries that are 1.5V. You need to use two 14500 3.7V Li-ion batteries. They are the same size as AA but are stronger to power the motors.
When did you receive the Nybble? The blue uploader is our older accessory. It doesn't have a dedicated LED for power. The board in your picture is NyBoard V1_0. So when you upload the code, you need to select Arduino Uno as the board, not NyBoard V0 as for our previous versions.
Are you connecting the uploader in the right direction? And how is the battery connected to the board? Could you show detailed pictures? Every NyBoard has passed seven functionality tests before packaged.
The blue and yellow LEDs are indicators for Tx and Rx signals. The corresponding LED will blink when there's a signal pass through.
If you cannot upload a sketch, please check the driver of the uploader.
